HOA tackles water problems
The regular Tuscany Hills HOA meeting was relatively short and to the point on Wednesday, February 17.With all board members present, the Board spent most of its time discussing the new fertigation project that has been installed. Some 31 units are in the ground with liquid fertilizer that will run its first load test on Friday, February 21. The expected rains are scheduled to arrive on Saturday and if they materialize as predicted, the newest system meant to maximize growth of landscaping and minimize over water usage will result in Òhug savings to the community,Ó said former board president Lesa Miller.
Elsinore Valley Water official to head ACWA Regional Board
Ben Wicke, Vice President of the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) Board of Directors, was recently elected to serve as Chairman of the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) 2010-2011 Region 9 Board of Directors. Wicke is the designated Tuscany Hills representative on the EVMWD board.
9th annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast planned
Tuscany Hills residents are invited to attend the 9th annual MayorÕs Prayer Breakfast that will be held on Thursday, April 1 at Lakeside High School Lancer cafeteria, 32953 Riverside Drive. The doors open at 7 a.m. for the breakfast, that yearly is prepared for those attending by the schoolÕs culinary arts students.

Both Kevin and his wife Michelle make no bones about what they want for their children and how they plan to achieve and maintain it. The couple and their children moved into Tuscany Hills in 2001 and they point out they were looking for something affordable with a high end quality.

Tuscany Hills residents turned out in their elegance at the annual Chamber of Commerce\'s installation dinner held at the Diamond Club on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. Using \"A Night at the Oscars\" as the theme, the formal black-tie event featured lots of spectacular silentÊand live auction items,Ê and a soiree worthy of evening filled with glittering couples and various honors bestowed on worthy members of the community.

One student’s project helps local animal shelter
Phillip Mendoza, 17, a Junior at Elsinore High School decided when his family picked out a new dog from the local animal shelter that he would help the Shelter as his community service project that is required as a member of the National Honor Society. The furry ball of energy, ÒMillerÓ was selected to go with the familyÕs Scotch Terrier ÒBonnieÓ who had lost her playmate. ÒMillerÓ is a mixed breed that the family dubbed a Òschn-oodle.Ó

Rotary Club of Lake Elsinore completes visioning session
The Rotary Club of Lake Elsinore came together recently to envision what the club would like to accomplish in the next five years in the community and communities around the world. During a four hours session with three facilitators that came here to assist the club, the members worked on seeing the future in areas such as community service, vocational service (high ethical standards), and international service. International service not only covers accomplishing projects in other parts of the world, but also brings the world to our community.

Area TIP volunteers being sought
The Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. (TIP) is looking for volunteers to work in the Southwest Riverside County area. Serving the cities of Lake Elsinore, Hemet, Menifee, Murrieta, Perris, Sun City, Temecula, and Wildomar, TIPÊ is looking for men, women and teens willing to be volunteer crisis responders to help those emotionally injured in any event or disaster, to comfort families after the death or illness of a friend or family member, to support survivors of a suicide, to assist with traumatized accident victims, to support emergency personnel, and provide emotional and practical support to victims of crime or assault.
JWC hosts first Charity Golf Tourney in Canyon Lake
The Canyon Lake Jr. WomenÕs Club (JWC) will host its first annual Charity Golf Tournament on March 27 at the Canyon Lake Golf Course. The cost is $100 per person. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a putting contest and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The event will end with a banquet dinner, drawings and live auction. According to Chairperson Krissy Cissell, some of the fun things planned are a chance to win a golf cart with a hole-in-one contest, a longest drive contest, closest-to-the-pin and many more. More details will be released closer to the event.
